AFS - Automatic Foliage Spraying
Description
The AFS system is specifically designed for spraying operations in the vineyard.
Since vegetation in vineyards is not always homogeneous on a horizontal axis (missing vines) and/or on a vertical axis (difference in vegetation height), this foliage detection system, combined with individual control of each nozzle, enables spraying only where vegetation is present.
“Its principle is to detect in real time the presence of vegetation in front of the nozzle, in order to authorize it to spray”.
The AFS provides automatic nozzle-to-nozzle cut-off, using ultrasound data based on forward speed. This mode of operation replaces GPS cut-offs. With AFS, we're freed from satellite coverage, vine growth and weather conditions. Above all, we can work on nozzle opening individually and indifferently per vertical boom or per face. No more RTK or other expensive subscriptions.
