The "Les Vins de Pandore" Wine Box
Created by the Bachelor class of 2022-2025 students at the Changins School of Viticulture and Enology (Switzerland), Les Vins de Pandore is a unique educational wine box inspired by the myth of Pandora, designed to introduce professionals and enthusiasts to common wine faults. It includes two bottles of high-quality wine—a Chardonnay and a Syrah carefully crafted by the students—alongside six educational samples demonstrating typical faults: oxidation, astringency, cork taint, volatile acidity, reduction, and deviations caused by Brettanomyces.
The students, involved from vinification to marketing, developed original protocols in the Changins teaching winery, experimenting with various equipment (barrels, stainless steel tanks, etc.). The two exemplary wines showcase the expertise of the 2022-2025 class, while the fault samples offer tasters a valuable learning experience.
The grapes, sourced exclusively from Swiss vineyards, provide full immersion in local production. The wine box will be available starting in December 2024 for CHF 120, with proceeds supporting seminars and the students' study trip.
