Why hops in New Aquitaine? More about the plant and its needs
To meet the needs of craft breweries, hop production, an essential ingredient and spice for beer, has expanded outside its historical home. The rhizome, the subterranean part of the plant, produces vines each year, which flower in the summer to produce cones. Once harvested and dried, these cones are used by brewers to add bitterness and fragrance to their beers.
